Happy Holidays from Harbour Volleyball Association
It’s been one heck of a year for Harbour Volleyball and our awesome community. Thank you to all of you for being a part of another stellar year in volleyball on the Shore. We’ve won countless medals, we’ve seen our numbers continue to grow in all areas, and we even kicked off a new format with the SpikeFest Grass Volleyball Tournament. We even got a new staff member in Maria, and we’re now up to 2.5 staff.
May our 2026 look a lot like 2025, and lets keep this thing going strong!
Now first, a bit of housekeeping for our HBVC Members…
- You can become an HBVC member here OR book casual hire here any time the courts are free, which is most days over the holiday break.
- Don’t forget to rake your courts after use.
- There is a lot of lost property to be collected in the clubhouse. We’re back in the office the week of 5 Jan, so come in and collect your gear soon or it’s going to the op shop 🙂
- The HBVC is not a BYO Booze venue. We have a licence to sell on weekends and social league nights only, and alcohol is not permitted to be brought in and consumed.

Grab a partner and come on down to the Harbour Beach Volleyball Centre and play against other pairs from other Harbour Schools – it is recommended you play with someone from your high school however it is not compulsory.
Ages: Year 9 – 13
Dates: 2 February to 9 March, 2026
Time: 4.00 PM – 6.00 PM
Beach Volleyball Development Programme (VDP)
VDP is a great programme to coach our athletes on the basic fundamentals and tactics of beach volleyball, all at our Harbour Beach Volleyball Centre in Mairangi Bay.
We offer 2 classes:
- Intermediate VDP – this generally consists of Intermediate School aged athletes.
- Development/ Advanced VDP – this is for our more experienced and older athletes.
The Beginner VDP will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4-5pm. The Development/ Advanced VDP will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45-6pm.
You can opt to play on Tuesday only, Thursday only, or both Tuesday and Thursday.
Dates: Tuesday 3 February to Thursday 2 April
Our Twilight Social League is back for Term 1, 2026! This is a 4v4 social league, all levels welcome.
The bar will be open and the music pumping. Be sure to register early as this league can fill up quickly.
Dates: 10 consecutive Tuesdays from 27 January to 31 March
Times: 3 rounds starting at 6pm until sunset.
Format: 3 Divisions – Competitive, Intermediate and Social/Beginner. First 2 weeks will be grading.
The Intermediate School Beach Volleyball League is a fun opportunity for our Intermediate School athletes to play games with mates while also learning some basic fundamentals.
The league is 8 weeks long from Wednesday 4 February to Wednesday 25 March from 4:15-5:30pm at our Harbour Beach Volleyball Centre.
Harbour Volleyball Opportunities Fund
2025 saw us donate $6,000 to nearly 20 successful applicants, helping our young Rangatahi reach their goals and represent Harbour and New Zealand in both national and international competitions.
The success of this fund comes down to donations from our association and our community. So if you would like to donate to this wonderful fund, we really would appreciate it! 100% of your donations go directly to our successful applicants.

We are very fortunate to have a permanent 6-court beach volleyball centre in Mairangi Bay. You can register to become a member and use the courts whenever they are free by booking your courts online.
