Any athlete representing Harbour Volleyball must agree to this Athlete Code of Conduct. Any player who completes an online or written permission slip for a representative trip automatically agrees to this Athlete Code of Conduct which will be made available during permission slip completion. As an athlete representing Harbour Volleyball I agree to:

  • Behave in an appropriate manner so as not to discredit Harbour Volleyball and/or myself.

  • Display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat.

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, culture, background or religion.

  • Communicate in advance alternative travels plans to and from tournaments. These will require parental confirmation if athletes are under the age of 18.

  • Adhere to any instructions given by the Harbour Volleyball Game Development Manager, delegated trip supervisor, coaches and managers.

  • Respect the surroundings of my accommodation and others who may be staying there at the same time.

  • Not participate in any behaviour that is deemed inappropriate. This behaviour may lead to me being sent home immediately, at my own, or my parent’s expense.

  • Not participate in initiation ceremonies/activities.

  • Not consume alcohol, drugs, party pills or smoking. This is not permitted at any time.

If an individual who is over the age of 18 elects to consume alcohol they will be removing themselves from the responsibility of Harbour Volleyball.

  • These individuals must also not supply or associate with other Harbour Volleyball representatives below the age of 18 during the consumption of or under the influence of substances.

  • Any individuals over 18 who elect to consume alcohol should not be wearing any clothing that indicates any affiliation with Harbour Volleyball.

  • For individuals under the age of 18, parental consent will not be sufficient to permit the consumption of alcohol.

Breaches of the Athlete Code of Conduct will be reviewed by the judiciary committee explained in the Representative Policy. This policy may be cancelled, amended or supplemented by the Harbour Volleyball Board as and when it sees fit.
